An-Najah News - In a phone call the palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, briefed  his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the latest political developments in the region.

One of the main topic of the call was the pressures exerted by the United States on a number of countries and the need to confront these pressures and adhere to the Arab Peace Initiative.

both Presidents  also discussed the current dialogues between Fatah and Hamas and the Palestinian factions, and everyone's insistence on the unity of the position with an aim of achieving reconciliation and going to elections.

The President called on Turkey to support these efforts and to provide Turkish observers as part of an international team to monitor the elections.

President Abbas thanked his Turkish counterpart for his country’s support for Palestine and its just cause.

President Erdogan made with the presidents of Serbia and Kosovo to urge them not to open embassies or offices in Jerusalem.
