An-Najah News - Agenices - Have you ever wished you could read minds? Now this fantasy could come true.

Scientists developed, after studying neural data from people, an artificial intelligence (AI) that could turn brain activity into text, according to the Guardian.

The system of the AI studies the neural patterns while speaking, and researchers hope that this could help in understanding people who are unable to speak or write.

Dr Joseph Makin, co-author of the research from the University of California, San Francisco, revealed how they developed this AI by studying the neural data from participants who they have implanted electrode arrays in their brains.

However, the accuracy of the system is different from one person to another; but still, it gives hope since the new system is better than the previous approaches and has higher accuracy rate.

The system is not ready to be used for a number of people yet, because it still depends on the sentences already recorded on the system.

Dr. Mahnaz Arvaneh, an expert in Sheffield University, said that even if the system needs further developments now in order to be able to read and decipher human brains, we need to think about its ethical issues behind it.
