An-Najah News - A German company has developed robotic birds, can fly in the form of flocks, in an amazing way that simulates the realistic flight of birds in the sky.

A videotape of the German company Festo showed entire swarms of robotic birds flying in the air, flapping their wings as if they were real birds.

Robotic birds can slide smoothly on the ground, and even orient themselves on the ground or in the sky through a wireless system, due to the very lightweight artificial feathers.

A single robotic bird weighs only 42 grams, while the battery, carried by a bird, weighs only six grams, allowing it to fly for seven minutes.

Festo was able to make the robotic birds to fly in realistic motion because of the  artificial feathers and soft panels covering their bodies.

When the robotic birds rise in the air, these lightweight panels gather to give them the ability to climb to the top, and when they land the boards go out to allow them to slide gracefully, or to do sharp turns and fly in rings.
