An-Najah News - Nablus - Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that four-day general isolation measures will be imposed in 31 cities from Thursday as part of efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Turkey has imposed these measures in 31 cities during the past two weekends. Erdogan said the duration of the procedures would be longer this time because of a national holiday on Thursday, 23^rd of April, adding that the restrictions during the weekends could continue for “some time”.

Erdogan added after a cabinet meeting that Turkey aims to make the pace of the outbreak at a level that enables it to return life to normal after the Eid al-Fitr holiday at the end of May, indicating the possibility of taking steps before that time.

The Turkish Minister of Health stated that the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Turkey exceeded 90,980 as of Monday, 13,430 people recovered, and the total deaths reached 2,140.

He added that the rate of increase in confirmed cases in the country is declining despite the increase in the number of tests over the past weeks. He said that the coming days may witness a peak in the number of cases.
